This finger-style blues concept album is a tribute to the Blues-men who have come before me. The album is played in open D minor tuning, which was taught to me by John Cephas. Disassembled Memories an organic album, one guitar and one voice.
This album loosely follows the story of Daedalus the ancient Greek mythological figure. Daedalus was a master craftsman and inventor who built many great inventions and structures. Forced into exile for the murderous act of killing his nephew, Daedalus continued to build and create. Forced by King Minos to build an inescapable maze to imprison the Minotaur. He was then sentenced, along with his son Icarus, to life imprisonment in his own maze. His story continues as his creating never stops, but it cost him everything he held dear in his life. His son Icarus, his home, his freedom....his life.
The story of Daedalus still holds true today with all the social, religious and economical edifices we juggle today.
